Before a captivated audience, one finger is what was missing in order for Marielle to advance into the final heat of the World Cup at La Plagne. The small gap benefited the Swedish racer Naeslund ; who qualified for the final.

Marielle found herself in the small final with 2 of her teammates ; Alizée and Ophélie. Despite an average start, Marielle skied faultless in the course and was able to pass  skicross veteran Ophélie David in the last section of the course.

After her performance in the small final, Marielle was able to move into 8th place in the overall rankings for the 2013/2014 season. Marielle Thompson won the crystal globe over Fanny Smith, rewarding herself with a great season and a gold medal at the Olympics.

The world cup season is now finished leaving only the French National Championships in Val Thorens before some much needed rest for the French athletes.
