It was cold in Nakiska… Really cold actually. The -30°C (-22°F) caused the cancellation of one of the two races scheduled in Canada. The qualification has been passed without any trouble for Marielle – first to race on the track – and fourth best time of the qualifications. Saturday is the first race ! A first hit very intense, neck and neck with Jenny Owens and Sami Kennedy-Sim to obtain the second qualifying place. Then a quarter-final and a semi-final perfectly handled with a first place for both of them. The final gathers the top three of the overall ranking with Fanny Smith, Ophélie David plus the local Canadian Marielle Thompson, who will win the event in front of her fans, Marielle finishes fourth, as well as her teammate Jean-Frédéric Chapuis in the men’s race. The incredible story of the weekend is certainly the wonderful first place of the French ski racer Jonas Devouassoux, a great performance which shows the real emulation of the French Skicross team.
